23 Years — and What an Incredible Journey!

Since 2003, I’ve had the privilege of working with Turning Stone as a vendor and entertainment partner. Over those 23 years, I’ve had a front-row seat to an incredible evolution—watching the property grow, change and continually raise the bar.

Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of countless events, celebrations and special moments, while building relationships and friendships with some truly wonderful people.

I’m extremely proud of the small part DJ Bill T / DMA Music has played in that story, and even more grateful for the trust that has been placed in us year after year.

Congratulations to the entire Turning Stone team on this latest chapter. What an amazing evolution—and what a privilege it continues to be to be part of it. Here’s to what comes next!

I am looking for someone with a bucket truck for a full day of electrical work outside on our building. If you have any recommendations please let us know. Thanks

Do you remember "Sweetheart"?

I remember the very first time WSPK played “Sweetheart”. It was released as a single in March 1981, and by the summer of 1981 was being played in heavy rotation. It wasn't a club song, so you generally heard this song on the Radio, or of course at the Roller Rink. By the end of the summer, it had burnt itself out and kind of went to that special place in the grocery store where lost classics go to live the rest of their lives. Do you remember this band? They had a few more Hot 100 appearances, including “You’re My Girl” and “Without You (Not Another Lonely Night)”, but nothing approached the success of “Sweetheart.” The interesting connection is Frankie Previte's later career: he became one of the writers behind Dirty Dancing, co-writing “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” and “Hungry Eyes.” “Time of My Life” went on to win the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song.

So when you hear “Sweetheart,” you're hearing the same songwriter who, six years later, would have a hand in one of the biggest soundtrack songs of the 1980s.
