Effective next year, the FMB is officially saxophone free.

No more goose honks. No more Careless Whisper licks. No more excuses about "my reed being messed up."

We will fill the empty spots with more trombones.

Some FMB History....

In this photo, Ms. Lance is addressing the 2005 FMB on the first Sunday of band camp. In 2007, we moved into our current facility, and the old band hall was converted into a computer lab (complete with landscaping, new doors, and a completely overhauled inside). What are your memories of those crowded rehearsals in the old band hall?

Join the MSU Wind Ensemble on Tuesday night (3/31) for a wonderful evening of traditional and contemporary music, featuring works by Maslanka, Kozhevnikov, Balmages, Mashima, and Giroux. Guest soloist is Dr. Joe Gray, Assistant Professor of Trumpet in our Department of Music. Admission is free. See you at 7:30 in Lee Hall!

The MSU Department of Music's FAME Project benefits members of the FMB by providing funding for music students to attend conferences, masterclasses, and other professional events relevant to their studies. These events will expand their musical horizons and offer them the opportunity to perform and present on regional, national, and international stages. These activities are important in the development of young musicians and are helpful to them in establishing relationships that can lead to job opportunities, graduate study, and more.

Thank you for your support of the FAME project!

The purpose of this project is to provide funding for MSU music students to attend conferences, masterclasses, and other professional events relevant to their studies.

We're continuing to hear FMB auditions on weekdays through March 27th, but our final Saturday audition date is next week...
