Hey Dance Friends!

Here's our new favorite Jack and Jill dance performance out there right now.

Start at 2:52!

If you don't know what a Jack and Jill is... it's a dance competition where you get a random partner and a random song and all of it is improvisation! These two happened to get drawn for each other and are also dance partners BUT this is NOT a routine...all on the fly!

Haven't posted updates on here in a long time!

Although we don't have dances in Stanwood anymore we still would like to organize dances when we ARE in town.

Saturday is an international West Coast Swing Flash Mob Dance. This video is the routine. What if we had everyone learn this and then the next time we are in town we can do it at a mall or somewhere with lots of people?

Fun, right? :)

Hey Hey! Hope everyone is doing well!
We've got dance this week! And best yet, I've got all the moves and groves that I learned from the workshops from the Sea To Sky dance convention.

Things like:
-Having fun with basics
-Elevation Experimentation
-Using Your Head
-The anti pattern class
-A fun intro pattern
-And Musicality exercises that will take bring out the fun in every song.

Curious? Well you know where it's at.

If it works with you guys, this week I'd like to get together Saturday evening. Same time and same place. Please let me know if this will work. Sasha is in a play Friday and I would like to see her perform.

This next Friday there will not be any dance. There is an annual Haunted House at the Senior center that I've volunteered at for the last three years. Feel free to stop by and enjoy the haunted house or even come volunteer as well!

The Following Friday is Halloween. Please let me know by this coming Friday 10/24 if you are interested in having a Halloween Dance Party. If we have less than 6 people interested in dancing I will cancel.

Friday November 7th is up in the air as well. If I can work it out, I will be in Seattle at the West Coast Swing Convention Friday-Sunday. Maybe someone would be interested in hosting/teaching for this week? Sasha Cordier, you are in a play that night correct?

It's update time! This Friday during our intermediate session we are exploring what it looks like to dance to the different "Layers" of music. The song that we will be using for this exercise is Maps by Maroon 5. Please feel free to listen to it ahead of time and build a mental picture and a feel for the song.

I will be using the material provided from the website Practice West Coast Swing. As seen in the link below.

There is a lot of material here, so we will dive into the concept of dancing to different layers. If you decide you like it and want to dig deeper into the topic, maybe we will create a series out of it.

For more information on when and where, scroll down to the about section found on the left sidebar.

Open social dancing tonight! Come on out!

Ok everyone! it's time to pull out the microwave and cook up some moves! We've got left over moves, some from as far back as August. For some it will feel like a review and cooking up leftovers. For many it will be as good as new! We promise not to pull out anything that's funky awkward. Nobody likes likes stuff that sits too long in the fridge.

Same time
Same place
Greater Music Selection
But best of all, great people!
