“Bowling Centers Planning Major Overnight Remodeling to Remove “U Shaped Things!”

In response to Governor Jay Inslee’s press conference remark yesterday, members of the Washington State Bowling Proprietors Association, (WSBPA), while closed this weekend, are undertaking a massive industry-wide remodeling effort to remove “those U shaped things” that have caused a surge in COVID 19 cases statewide.
“We are very concerned that the interior design of our bowling centers, using the “u shaped thing,” are causing people to get sick with COVID,” declared Greg Olsen – Executive Director of the WSBPA.
“Although every one of our centers has implemented extensive sanitation and safety protocols approved by the Governor’s COVID Task Force, we want to be doing everything possible to ensure the safety of our customers,” added Olsen.
Work began at noon today (Saturday, November 21st), as 65 member centers are staging the largest makeover in the history of the bowling industry, perhaps anywhere in the world.
All these “u shaped thing” will be torn out and 6’ socially distanced modern and sanitized tables and seating configurations will be installed and ready for inspection by Governor Inslee, himself, along with members of the media being invited to the unveiling next week.

For those of you that missed Inslees interview on KIRO News, managing partner in two gyms and Daffodil Lanes, Brad Swartz stated there is no reason he should be shutting down bowling centers and fitness centers. He stated we follow 100% mask 100% of the time. The governor says places were shut down if that is where people take off mask like restaurants, but KOMO ask him, "They don't necessarily have to take down a mask to throw a bowling ball down the alley, why are you continuing to keep them closed?"
Inslee responded, " Look, we have to reduce anything that has risks and these thing have risks. It is risky when people breathe hard in interior spaces and that's what people do in gyms, to some degree bowling they sit around close to each other in a little U-shaped thing and compare their scores."
So, I'm heading down to Twin City tomorrow to try and figure out what the U-shaped thing is that he is talking about.
