This year has been an absolute pleasure covering Stanwood Athletics, and we’ve enjoyed being part of so many memorable moments throughout the season.

Spartans Surge in Second Half to Defeat Marysville-Getchell 3–1

The Stanwood Spartans earned a solid 3–1 victory over Marysville-Getchell in a game that shifted gears after halftime. The teams went into the break tied 1–1, with both sides showing energy and creating chances in a competitive first half.

Stanwood came out stronger in the second half, finding their rhythm and capitalizing on key opportunities. Lucas Gaydeski broke the deadlock with the go-ahead goal, giving the Spartans their first lead of the match. Later, Garrent Russell added an insurance goal to extend the advantage and put the game out of reach.

With a composed defensive effort down the stretch, the Spartans closed it out to secure the 3–1 win.
