Friday evening, Aug. 12, 2022, I had the honor of participating in a quick finish that raised money for Warriors and Quiet Waters. The organization helps post 9/11 veterans and their families by creating fly fishing experiences. I was one of 10 artists that participated. The clay sculpture titled "Power Struggle" will be cast in bronze at my studio in Stanford, MT.

This is my latest piece, titled "Just One More Mile." I started it at last year's CM Russell Stampede Quick Finish. It measures 10" high X 14" wide X 7 1/2" deep. It shows a man on horseback carrying an 1873 Wi******er rifle and walking through snow. More information can be found on my Web site: http://slillegard.com/Just_One_More_Mile.html

The addition to the Judith Basin County Free Library has been done for a while and it's gorgeous. We installed one of the final touches tonight. It is a group of trees that will have leaves with the names of people that made generous donations that made the approximately 1 million dollar project happen. I designed the scene and Roger Campbell did an amazing job on the woodworking. On hand to help with the installation were Roger Campbell, Scott Hughes, Gene Todd, Carolyn Jette, Powell Becker, Don Andersen (who documented the event with his camera) and me. The library director, Jeanne Lillegard supplied us with treats!

There's room for more leaves so contact the library for more information on how to get involved.

We found the foundry! My son John and I conducted some good-old fashioned Montana archaeology today after a month of extreme cold and frequent snowstorms. We finally got up to freezing here in Stanford, MT and decided that it would be a good opportunity to pour some last-minute pieces for Western Art Week in Great Falls, MT. Please visit us in Room 123 at the Heritage Inn during the Out West Art Show and Sale. We will be serving wine and chocolate during the opening events on Wednesday, March 20. The show concludes Saturday, March 23. We hope to see you there!
