Happy Valentine's from our archives. We're celebrating with Brittany St. John Newell's lovely ode to the people so important to us we can't relegate to either "friend" or "romantic partner." In her own terms, this is an interrogation of traditionally recognized love, and a nod to the "wingmen" you "abuse like a sibling, text like a crush, and consult like a spouse."

We urge you, like the other millennial-appealing-you-don't-need-a-boyfriend posts you'll see today, to not feel so bad about your romantic "aloneness." Here's to all of you, your wingmen, and to shifting the celebration to including these vital relationships that nourish and sustain us.
