FREE EVENT: CONCERT READING OF A NEW PLAY
Hiraeth concerns a man who, after more than 30 years, returns to his childhood. He never leaves.

Hiraeth, set in Silvermine (a section of Norwalk, CT) on a seasonably beautiful, autumn afternoon, begins breezily enough when Tommy returns to his childhood home after more than a 30-year absence. Sara, who, presently lives there with her husband and two young children, peppers Tommy with questions about various curiosities of the house, yard and neighborhood. As Tommy dives deeply into his buried past and confronts unresolved terrors, his visit goes tragically awry. Hiraeth deals with such themes as nostalgia, mental illness and, ultimately, loss.
