Experience a whirlwind evening of theater with InstaPlays! - a playfully competitive festival of original short plays written, rehearsed and performed within 24 hours by teams of local writers, actors and directors, presented at Wayside Cider November 9, 7pm.

Organized by Kaats Cradle, this celebration of spontaneous drama begins on Friday evening, 24 hours before showtime when teams receive an item that must be incorporated into their plays. Saturday night, the plays come to life and one will win a special prize made by local artist Bee Murphy (and of course bragging rights).

No tickets or entry fee required- join us for a night of creative fun, bubbly beverages and delicious food at Wayside Cider, located at 55 Redden Ln, Andes, NY 13731!

You’re invited to a Garden Party which includes food, drinks, festive outdoor flair, and the premiere of Open Body featuring immersive performances by Megan Rakeepile ( ) and Marisa Caruso with music by Moya Rakeepile and Drew Azzinaro , choreographed and directed by Gerry Trentham.

Performance Description:

How our bodies exist within a complex system we name the natural world on earth and beyond, the garden and among the stars; known and unknown remind us of our delicacy among expanse, sensuality among brutality, urgency against longevity with its powers beyond the providence of humanity.

In 𝑂𝑝𝑒𝑛 𝐵𝑜𝑑𝑦, the audience is guided through a garden of personal stories illuminated through theatre and dance. Stories that explore the human relationship to this vital world that sustains and challenges us, inviting alternative forms of consciousness and being in the realm of the live ecosystem. What can our bodies learn from the environment they evolved from?

This program is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Services Inc.
