Tatiana Mendoza, a native from Colombia, came to the United States in 2003 to join her husband Carlos, and fulfill their dreams together. Prior to coming to the United States, Tatiana completed a course in the study of Plastic Arts at the University of Antioquia. It was here where for two years she was the Student President of the Program. Tatiana has always been an advocate of fairness and equali
ty. This is why, in 2012 she and a group of close friends founded Parents of Students for a Dream (PS4D). Tatiana was the president of PS4D for 8 years, during her tenure with PS4D she was able to deliver over 60 scholarships to undocumented students all over the state of Connecticut. Her motto is " Education is a right for every human being no matter their social economic or racial status". Education is not a privilege; all individuals should have equal opportunities to succeed in life, no matter race, religious and sexual preferences, or legal or income status. Tatiana worked at Horizons at New Canaan Country School for 14 years, where she served as the Parent and Communications Coordinator. She then worked at Brightview Assisted Living in the life engagement program as a coordinator. Where she promoted a healthy and happy life among the residents. In 2021 Tatiana started fulfilling one her dreams, by joining Lasko Real Estate as salesperson. Tatiana has always been passionate about helping others and building a community. What better way to do so, than helping people in the community to find their forever homes? You can find Tatiana promoting education among immigrant parents and students. Translating for parents at meetings, health fairs and other social events. On the weekends, you can find her participating on walkathons for brain tumor, cancer awareness, cheerleading her son’s soccer team, clapping at her daughter’s gymnastics and ballet. She enjoys a good hiking trip, or just simply appreciating the beauty of nature with her family. For her commitment with the community Tatiana has been recognized in several occasions such as:
