Founder • Visionary • Artist • Equestrian 🎨🐴💫

As the creative heartbeat behind Blue Horse Theatre, Jerusha is both the owner and one of the driving forces that keeps our performances alive with art, magic, and meaning. 💙 Her passion and artistry make our shows more than performances—they’re experiences.

Jerusha has been devoted to horses since childhood and has worked professionally in horsemanship and the arts for over 20 years. 🐎 Her partnership with her Nokota horse Mesabi Warrior began through her work with The Nokota Horse Conservancy in 2010, and together they won the 2014 Grand Champion title at the Horse Woman’s Challenge. 🏆

She has studied with many respected trainers and artists across the country—beyond her semesters at Pat Parelli’s International Study Center—and brings together a wide range of perspectives on natural horsemanship, art, and performance. 🌾💪 Her approach emphasizes gentle connection, trust, and teaching, helping both horses and students grow with confidence and respect.

As the leader of Blue Horse Theatre, Jerusha inspires through example—encouraging creativity, kindness, and community in every project she touches. 🎨🌻

This Halloween, under the glow of the Huntress Moon: Carnival of Curiosities, Jerusha and Mesabi will return to the arena with a performance filled with elegance, mystery, and wonder. 🌕🎃 Expect to see that same bond—the magic that happens when art, trust, and horsemanship unite. ✨🐴

Under the carnival lights, where laughter echoes and shadows dance, Dara invites all to see their own light within.

Dara’s love of horses and dance runs deep — it’s been a lifelong rhythm woven through every part of her story.

Amigo, a palomino horse, was truly her first friend and teacher. She continues to draw inspiration from Threnna and Charlie, her horse partners at home. Mesabi and Jerusha opened her heart to sharing her inner light with audiences.

Dancing she truly feels her connection to the majesty of everything.

Throughout her years with Blue Horse Theatre, Dara has continuously shares her passion and creativity with everyone around her. Whether she is sewing the colorful costumes, setting the stage and props behind the scenes or performing in a mesmerizing dance with the cast equine and human alike, Dara embodies the true spirit of Blue Horse Theatre: creativity, compassion, and magic in motion. 🩵🐎

Meet Kelly & Blue — a duo that brings brains, bravery, and a touch of moonlight magic to Huntress Moon: Carnival of Curiosities! 🌙🐴

Kelly has been riding since she was just 8 years old, mastering everything from hunter jumper and dressage to extreme cowboy racing. Her experience shines in every move — calm, focused, and fearless!

What makes Kelly stand out is her scientific curiosity and inventive mindset. She’s always asking “What needs to happen next?” and finding practical, creative ways to bring our shows to life. Whether she’s performing or working behind the scenes, she’s the one making the magic happen. 💫

Her partner, Nahockey’s Blue Moon (“Blue”), is her steadfast match — bold, curious, and full of heart. Together they light up the arena with power, precision, and pure fun! 💙

At home, Kelly cares for three Nokota horses (including Blue!), along with her dogs, chickens, and a thriving garden — because her love for animals and nature never stops when the lights go out. 🌾🐴

Step right up and prepare to feel the energy spark — John Zach commands the stage with presence, precision, and passion every time he performs. ⚡🎪

A seasoned theatre artist with years of experience in stage combat and fight choreography, John has lent his expertise to countless productions across the Midwest — from 12 Angry Jurors and W***y Wonka to The Addams Family and beyond. He’s even been sought out to teach and create fight choreography for other productions, sharing his mastery of the art. 🗡️✨

But what truly defines John is his humility and love for theatre itself. Whether leading a fight scene, performing a dramatic role, or quietly helping behind the scenes, his enthusiasm for live performance shines through it all. 💫

This season, he joins his partner Jenn in Blue Horse Theatre’s Carnival of Curiosities, bringing his signature mix of strength, humor, and magnetic stage energy to the ring. We’re honored to have him back — and trust us, you’ll feel the spark when he takes the stage. 🔥🎭

“Alright… this one’s a little different — because it’s me!” 😅💙

I’m Kelly Jo, one of the many hands and hearts behind Blue Horse Theatre. You don’t always see my face front and center, but I’m there — usually under a pile of fabric, trim, or costumes, helping make the magic happen. 🎨🪽

I’ve been lucky enough to perform alongside my Nakota horses, and I love being that backstage hand who helps put all the pieces in place so everyone on stage looks and feels their best. It’s always been my passion to help make the show shine! ✨🐴

You may have seen me dancing with wings (yep — the big ones Blue Horse Theatre uses today!) or spinning poi, bringing movement and light to life. I also spent nearly 20 years performing at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, where my love for dance and storytelling first took flight. 🌙

Catch me in a duo act at our 5th Annual Huntress Moon: Carnival of Curiosities — a night full of laughter, magic, and a little moonlit mischief! 🎪💫

📖 Once upon a stage…

There is a young lady who joins us each Halloween with imagination as bold as the autumn moon. Roslyn carries a world of wonder in her heart—a world where books, art, and theater collide in marvelous ways. 🌌✨

Her dances are never quite what you expect. Sometimes they’re playful and silly, full of whimsy and laughter. Other times, they slip deliciously into the shadows—where endings are dramatic, a little eerie, and sometimes even morbid (always in that tongue-in-cheek Halloween way). 🎭💀🎶

It is this balance of light and dark that makes her performances so captivating. She delights us with her quirks, surprises us with her stories, and leaves us marveling at the strange little worlds she creates on stage.

So when the lanterns glow and the air grows crisp, look for her twirling at the edge of moonlight. She will be there—silly, spooky, and spectacular—reminding us that imagination knows no bounds. 🎃🌙

🌟 Last year, Faith stepped into the arena with Blue Horse Theatre for her very first performance—and she’s been shining ever since! This Halloween, she returns with her horse Tilly, bringing a whole new level of grace, strength, and connection. 🐴🎃

🏇 What makes Tilly’s journey so special? She began as a barrel racing horse, and in just one year she’s transformed into a circus pony—learning more advanced tricks and liberty work. That progress is a true reflection of Faith’s hard work, patience, and the powerful bond she’s built with her horse. 💕

💫 Though one of our youngest riders and newest members, Faith shows wisdom beyond her years. She has a natural gift with horses, and her playful, upbeat spirit makes her a joy to watch in the arena. We’re so lucky to have her as part of the Blue Horse family! 🌈✨

Some people simply belong in the world of movement and magic — and Jen is one of them. 💫 Her journey weaves together 14 years of martial arts 🥋, 7 years of stage combat and acting 🎭, and a lifelong bond with horses 🐴. It’s that rare mix of strength, grace, and imagination that makes her performances come alive on the Blue Horse Theater stage.

Before joining us, Jen shared her heart with the Nakota Horse Conservancy, where her love for horses ran deep. She now owns a spirited Nakota horse, a reflection of her lasting connection to the beauty and spirit of this incredible breed. 🐎💖

Since joining Blue Horse Theater, Jen has become a true creative force — a natural partner who moves with heart, humor, and adaptability in every number. Whether dancing, helping behind the scenes, or lifting the team’s spirits, she brings warmth, laughter, and dedication wherever she goes. 🌟💪

Alyssa is a force on any stage—her talents are endless! From fire 🔥 to silks 🤸‍♀️, wings 🪽, and even giant wings that fill the sky, she’s tried it all and dazzled every time.

One of the special gifts Alyssa brings to Blue Horse Theater is her unique background working with both horses 🐴 and performers 🎭. That perspective helps bridge the two worlds—bringing riders and performers together and keeping the show flowing smoothly. Many hands make our performances possible, but Alyssa’s ability to see the big picture makes us stronger, and we’re so grateful for her. 💙✨

By day she cares for animals 🐕🐴, and by night she transforms on stage. While you may not see her on horseback, her bond with horses runs deep. ❤️

This year, Alyssa returns with a solo dance that showcases her commanding presence. With storm-gray eyes 👁️ and a tall, stunning form, she carries the aura of an Enchantress—magnetic, elegant, and unforgettable. 🪄🌌✨
