The Story Behind This Painting...

A mixed media piece, depicting a white horse with its head bowed as golden streams rain down from above.
Glass fragments are embedded into the painting to create a unique, elegant effect that catches and reflects light.
Using impressionistic, circular brush strokes, which convey emotion and movement, I aimed to capture the fluidity and grace of the horse creating a sense of life and energy.
This piece invites viewers to contemplate the intersection of the earthly and the ethereal, encouraging a deeper reflection on the presence of the divine in our lives.

Here is the story behind this piece...

The Gypsy Vanner breed, born from the wanderlust of Romany Gypsies who needed a horse that could pull their world behind them - a horse strong enough to carry their hopes, sturdy enough to weather life storms. This horse is a creature of strength and grace, whose eyes hold the secrets of 1000 sunsets.

It’s not just his physical beauty that captivates, but he possesses an amiable disposition, a gentle soul that draws people near.

In the quiet of twilight, when the world holds its breath, he stands beneath the moon of indigo skies and his mane dances in the wind a cascade of silk and Stardust.

“Freedom” they call him – the embodiment of open roads and boundless horizons, he whispers in the wind: I am the keeper of stories, the guardian of dreams and my heart knows no fences .

This piece was inspired by the resilience of the breed and the fusion of freedom.

Every painting contains a part of the artists soul. Occasionally some pieces are very difficult to let go. The “Belgium Draft Horse”, an 8x10 Oil painting, due to many enjoyable revisits and fine tuning’s, took about 3 years to get to the final stroke. I’m happy and sad to announce, that a client who loved this piece as much as I do, is taking it home. I’d like to thank Gayle for her support and love for art.
