Art in Bloom 2026
Thank you St. Louis Art Museum for the opportunity to participate in the 20th celebration of Art in Bloom. This is my sixth Art in Bloom! And, many thanks to the amazing Suzy Gorman for visiting me during installation and taking these photos.

Dame Magdalene Odundo’s work is the female form personified in ceramic. I used female forward flowers like anthurium, orchids, roses, and calla lilies to accentuate the delicate curvature in Odundo’s vase.

By the way, was featured in last year and the .anderson Spring 2026 runway collection was inspired by her ceramics. Her work is featured in galleries and museums worldwide. We are fortunate to have one of her pieces at the St. Louis Art Museum.

I’m always blown away at the caliber of design talent that is on display during Art in Bloom. The event runs through tomorrow at SLAM - it’s free to all just as our world class art museum is everyday. We live in a culturally rich city filled with people who appreciate and continually support the arts.

Enjoy the art and flowers, friends!

Warmth, texture, moody colors, and natural materials - like marble, crystal and wood - age so incredibly well together. Custom Palmer sink legs look like they have been there forever paired with a unlacquered brass fixture and salvaged marble vanity. Antique crystal sconces look extra sexy when layered on top of my favorite paint colors. Black lacquer enhances an original marble fireplace surround. A vintage marble lamp and vases look like they were made for each other.

Your home should feel like welcome respite from the elements. I hope you all are keeping well.

I chose magnolia garland and wreaths as the foundation for the Christmas decor in this dining room that was photographed by for a collaboration we had awhile back. Magnolia always feels timeless and classic. I wanted this design to stand the test of time. I think it has.

In the current issue of . Floral styling for the talented . This photoshoot took place one week after the tornado hit our beautiful city (and my home) in May. Jessie had asked me to do floral styling for this shoot well in advance. No tornado or power outages or kids being off school were going to stop me! My daughter joined us in this wonderful family’s home that day for the shoot.

The joy and learning experience with this special family we had that day has made a lasting impression on my daughter and I. One of my favorite floral design and life moments to date.

Showing up in life is half the battle. 🫶🏻

I love this project, ! Thank you for the opportunity to join you.

A few years ago, a project near and dear to me was published in . The photoshoot took place on a very hot St. Louis summer day (not unlike the heat we are currently experiencing!). The night before the shoot, my daughter suffered a concussion at a cross country camp. Of all the places! The only child in the history of the camp to get a concussion (it’s running in a straight line, right?). We got home from the hospital around 1:30 in the morning. The next morning I was up early driving my other children to and from school activities and camps (also not unlike what we are currently experiencing!).

I was planning to do all the styling and floral design for the shoot the night before. Clearly that did not go as planned. But, I got it done. One room at a time. In between carpool pickups. As the talented and were shooting in one room, I would work on styling the next one. They patiently worked with me and around me.

I am reflecting on these moments now as school has started back up. My daughter is off to high school and is on the cross country team, of course. She swore it away after the concussion but thankfully changed her mind!

Time flies. Things don’t always go as planned. You get bumped and bruised sometimes. It’s ok. Show up anyway. Wishing you a smooth, graceful start to the school year or whatever new adventures you may be undertaking.

Irises blooming in the garden stop me in my tracks every year. Effortless beauty. One of the easiest perennials to grow and more stunning with each year that passes. I intended to keep adding to this vase but this one bloom will do just fine along with the peony bud I saved from the rains yesterday.
