One of our curators recently penned an essay with a STL-based artist discussing what Afro-Surrealism is and can be.
The art history department at WashU is holding an event on March 1 in Hillman 70 (Danforth Campus) to situate recent work by local artist Damon Davis within this movement and discuss the status of black creativity in our current sociopolitical times. Hope to see you there!
