Season 20 posters are here!!

Our graphic designer Kelly came up with some beautiful posters that perfectly capture the feel for each of these fabulous productions!

The Most Happy Fella by Frank Loesser- This drawing titled "Leapfrog" by artist Gorges Léonnec first appeared in a December 1926 edition of Le Sourire, a French humorous newspaper. This perfectly encapsulates the playful and convoluted antics of the farmer, Tony Esposito, and his love interest, Rosabella.

Die Entführung aus dem Serail by W. A. Mozart - This poster directly uses the "Harem Dancer" by Russian American artist Vincent Stiepevich. Probably created in the late 19th century, Stiepevich is well known for his Harem scenes and portraits and attempts to capture the feeling of leisure and opulence that is characteristic of the Seraglio's from this time period.

Turandot by Giacomo Puccini- This piece is titled "Turandot" by Arthur von Ramberg. Ramberg created this portrait of the Princess Turandot circa 1859, likely based off of one of the many previous plays or stories of the same name. This piece of art stood out as the obvious choice, given the eponymous title!

Season tickets will go on sale July 1st with single ticket sales opening on August 1st.

On this day, May 25 in 1878, "H.M.S. Pinafore" by Gilbert and Sullivan premiered at the Opera Comique in London.

With a libretto by W. S. Gilbert and music by Arthur Sullivan, the operetta tells the lively story of love and class aboard the Royal Navy ship H.M.S. Pinafore. Filled with witty satire, memorable melodies, and charming characters, the work became an enormous success and helped establish Gilbert and Sullivan as one of the most celebrated partnerships in musical theater history.

We were delighted to bring this playful operetta to the stage in 2024—here are some photos from our production!

🌄From the Frontier to the Kitchen!! 🌄

Experience a unique and entertaining afternoon of music and culinary celebration!

This double bill will feature two pieces about inspiring American women. The afternoon will start with St. Louis Native Barbara Harbach’s "Pioneer Women: From Skagway to White Mountain." This four-movement masterpiece will cover four American women (Catherine Van Culer, Cordelia Nobel, Margaret Murie, and Gertrude Fergus Baker) who helped settle the wilds of Alaska. Taken from their diaries, letters, monographs, and journals, the texts chronicle their journeys throughout Alaska, from Skagway, the Southeastern entrance into Alaska, to White Mountain, near Nome, on the western coast of the Bering Sea.

This will be followed by Lee Hoiby's comical one-act opera "Bon Appétit!", an entertaining musical tribute to the legendary Julia Child. Obviously, this performance will be followed by a brief reception with coffee and a piece of Julia Child's legendary chocolate cake!

Join us on September 12th at 1pm or 3pm OR September 13th at 2pm for a fabulous evening celebrating these iconic women.
