The El Sistema St. Louis program at the Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center is seeking a qualified violin instructor for our beginning and advanced students.

The instructor would lead our JUMP program which meets Monday- Friday at 4:30pm and offers one hour group classes. We also offer 30 minute lessons for advanced players on Thursdays and Saturdays.

This position is ideal for advanced students, recent graduates, and semi-retired music educators.

We are an El Sistema inspired program seeking to provide music education to those who otherwise might not have access. Our pedagogy features an accelerated learning model.

El Sistema STL at the Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center (LNAC) is kicking off the 2025/26 Season and we welcome all St. Louis, students, grades K-12 to take part in our program. Our program is in it's 17th year offering low cost and free music history and theory instruction to all students in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.

With two accelerated string programs, both beginners and established players have options.

The El Sistema STL Junior Music Program (JUMP) begins Monday, September 13, 2025 and is for beginning string students, typically grades K-5 and provides string education and music history lessons. The program is offered M, Tu, Th, and F from 4:00pm - 5:00pm . We provide beginning and intermediate instruction with a group lesson option on Fridays from 4:30pm - 5:30pm.

Our Summer program produced five budding new violinists! We look forward to welcoming more students this fall.

The El Sistema STL Lemp Community Orchestra (LCO) begins Saturday, September 13th at 9:00am. Rehearsals are Thursdays at 5:00pm and Saturdays at 9:00am. The LCO is open to intermediate and advanced middle and high school aged students with an audition. We also welcome college students, music educators, professional musicians, and community members. The orchestra promotes accelerated learning, offering advanced repertoire, sectional and individual instruction.

Throughout our seventeen years, we've offered music education at low or no cost to St. Louis residents. Music education too often finds itself on the chopping block, leaving many schools with no music programs at all. We exist to keep music education within reach in St. Louis, regardless of race, socio-economic status, or gender.

This year, we are partnering with Community Arts St. Louis to offer transportation. Students without transportation can arrange a ride with Community Art Bus to and from rehearsal.
