Meet our Pre-Professional Student Ensemble dancers for our 2026-2027 season!

We are going into day 2 of our summer bootcamp with sore feet and excitement for what’s to come!

Our Student Ensemble (Ages 14-25) are an elite community of young tap dancers with a shared passion to learn, preserve, and support the art of tap dance and its history. While continuing to train at their respective studios and arts organizations, Pre-Professional Student Ensemble members train weekly with STLRC professionals and special guests, learn original choreography, work with live music, explore the process of building their own compositions, and receive multiple performance opportunities throughout the season.

You’ll be able to catch them this December when they join our live band on stage in our moSTLy Holidays production.

Meet our Youth Ensemble members! Today is the first day of our Pre-Professional Program Boot Camp for our 2026-2027 Season.

We are pumped to get to work with these talented young artists and watch them grow over the next few months.

Our Pre-Pro Youth dancers will work with members of STLRC’s professional ensemble to receive training in:
tap technique, music theory, improvisation, history, original choreography, performance, & presentation.

You’ll be able to catch them on stage in December when they open our moSTLy Holidays 2026 production.

Congratulations dancers! Now, let’s get to work!

Our 3-week Summer Session tap classes start one week from today, Tuesday, July 28!

Tap 1/2: 4:30-5:15pm
Teen/Adult Beginning Tap: 5:30-6:30pm
Teen/Adult Intermediate Tap: 6:30-7:30pm
Teen/Adult Int/Advanced Tap: 7:30-8:30pm

Drop-Ins are welcome for our Teen/Adult classes.

We are honored to present this 3-day, Leon Collins advanced residency, led by renowned artist Ian Berg, during STL Rhythm Fest 2026!
Leon Collins is a tap dance master whose work is studied and celebrated around the world. His routines remain among the most sought-after in the art form. Diane Walker, a living legend of tap dance and one of Collins’ star students, has dedicated her life to preserving and passing on his legacy. In this special residency, Ian Berg shares the work of Leon Collins as it was passed down to him through Diane Walker-offering dancers a rare opportunity to study this lineage-rich material in depth.
Students must be in attendance all 3 days of the residency.
July 31-August 2, 8:45-10:45am.
