Creative spaces available to performing and other artists, always with low rates and flexible booking options. Utopia provides PA-equipped and unequipped practice studios by the hour (anytime day and night with reservation), or as part of a monthly membership, or as a private studio leased with 24/7 access. Private studio w/ 24/7 access:
$300 down, same per month = Approx 18'x18' room,
(cost ranges between $150-$1,650 per month, based on room size)

RECORDING: $50 per hour for tracking, mixing, mastering services. 50% deposit collected with reservation, remainder due when session is completed. Book at least 24 hours in advance. Rental Gear: Amps, drums, guitars, sticks, etc; available if needed.

Spacious facility offers 70 studios, commercial recording studio, full bar serving hot and cold snacks, 3 sound stages, 4 dance studios, screen printing services, free wifi, private lounges, onsite equipment rentals, on-site storage, ground-level loading, outdoor courtyard, tourbus-friendly parking, etc. Utopia Studios is in the central corridor. We are located off S. Grand near SLU. Easy access to 44/55, 40/64 and S. Grand Metrolink. Plenty of off-street parking and bike rack available.

Castle Rat vocalist Riley Pinkerton has responded to online rumors claiming the band are “industry plants.”

Speaking with Full Metal Jackie, the self proclaimed “Rat Queen” laughed off the accusations and called them more flattering than offensive. According to Pinkerton, the band first learned about the chatter through Reddit posts shared by her own bandmates. Instead of taking it seriously, she found humor in the idea that music executives would somehow handpick a medieval rodent themed doom metal band as the next corporate success story.

The timing of the rumors came shortly after Castle Rat’s latest album The Bestiary exploded on Kickstarter, reaching its funding goal in just 37 minutes. But Pinkerton made it clear the entire project remains fully DIY from the ground up.

That includes personally building a massive 10 foot backpack rat puppet in a friend’s kitchen using upholstery foam, hot glue, and feathers for whiskers. Their live production has become just as over the top, with choreographed sword fights and full fantasy inspired stage theatrics turning heads everywhere they go.

Now the band is riding that momentum into one of the biggest tours of their career alongside Amon Amarth and Dethklok, proving that sometimes the weirdest ideas hit the hardest when fans genuinely connect with them.

A documentary exploring the '90s origins of the UK free party movement is set to make its streaming debut this month.

First released in 2025, Free Party: A Folk History charts the “untold story of how rave culture shook the system and sparked a global revolution” and includes interviews with seminal figures including Spiral Tribe, DiY Sound System, Bedlam and more.

From May 21, the film will be available to watch via independent cinema platform Eventive, with plans for further release on mainstream platforms in November.
