Geek Girls Are Real

Geek Girls Are Real Content portraying parent approvable costumes, role models for girls and positive girl power for geeky ladies of all ages! I was a kid and innocence prevailed.

Plus anything geeky, or anything really, we like. ADMIN Julie: I do not consider myself an expert in anything "geeky". I know a little bit about a lot of things. I would consider myself a Disney geek above all else, but enjoy attending conventions and cosplaying. I can hold my own in a conversation about Batman, I think. : ) I was on a panel at St. Louis Wizard World Comic Con (hosted by GeekyKool

.com) entitled, "Geek Girls, Are they real?" We had such great response that I decided to open up a geek girls page which would be safe for everyone. I find that most of the "geeky" pages have a lot of cussing, exposed skin and violence and though I am absolutely not opposed to those things, I have a very old soul and grew up watching reruns of Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Lucy, Monkees, Donna Reed and the like. I never imagined that Scooby and Shaggy were high or that Velma was a s*x kitten. Sexy and slutty are two different things of course and I hope everyone knows the difference. Feel free to ask any questions about girl geekdom. I am surrounded by amazing women in the geek world and will get you answers ASAP. I put this page under health and Beauty because I think that's what it is. Good mental health is vital to living and cosplay, video games, film and the like are art and art is beauty. Go out there and have fun above all else! Life. Is. Short. ADMIN: Kate Baue is a professional programmer and amateur cosplayer. Her geekiness started when she became obsessed with Greek Mythology in 5th grade. Her cosplaying started when she wanted to dress up as Mint Aizawa from Tokyo Mew Mew for Halloween in 6th grade. Her mom made the costume and Kate thinks it turned out quite well. Kate has a wide variety of geeky interests, from comics to anime to video games and everything in between. Let's just say that she knows what all the merchandise in a Star Clipper is.

We are sad to report the passing of Latin American voice actor Alexis Ortega, who is well known for voicing Tadashi in Disney’s “Big Hero 6” 😞

Ortega was only 38-years-old. A cause of death had not yet been revealed.

The voice actor was also the Latin American dub voice of Spider-Man (played by Tom Holland) in “Captain America: Civil War,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and “Avengers: Infinity War” 🕷️

Ortega was also the Latin American voice dubbing for a lot of Disney’s other films including “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “Finding Dory,” and “Cars 3.”

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young man. May he rest in peace.

A mind that changed the world has joined the ancestors at 95.

As a pioneering mathematician, Dr. Gladys West helped lay the foundation for the GPS technology we rely on every day. Long before navigation lived in our phones and cars, her precise calculations made it possible to map the Earth with accuracy.

For years, her contributions went largely unrecognized. Still, her work quietly guided millions, shaping how we move, travel, and connect across the globe.

Dr. West’s legacy is a reminder that Black brilliance has always been at the center of innovation, even when history failed to name them out loud.

We literally don't know where we'd be without her work! Rest well, Dr. West.

💔 Heartbreaking news is being reported today.

Imani Dia Smith — a former Broadway performer who brought joy to audiences as Young Nala in Disney’s The Lion King — has tragically passed away at just 25 years old.

Authorities say Imani was found with multiple stab wounds and was later pronounced dead at a hospital; a man identified as her boyfriend has since been charged in connection with her death.

Imani’s life ended far too soon, leaving behind a grieving family, friends, and a young son who should have had many more years with his mother.

Her talent, light, and presence were part of a Disney story that meant so much to so many, and her loss is being felt throughout the Broadway and theater community.

A GoFundMe has been established by her family to help with funeral expenses and to support her young son and loved ones during this unimaginable time.

Please keep Imani’s family in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏 🕊️

"The future of space is female. 🌟

For the first time, women outnumber men in ’s newest astronaut class. Six women and four men were selected from more than 8,000 applicants to train for missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. This marks a powerful shift in a field dominated by men since 1959.

Among them is Anna Menon, who has already been to space, flying higher than any woman in history on SpaceX's Polaris Dawn mission.

This milestone proves what we've always known: when women have a seat at the table, or in this case, the spacecraft, we all go further."

And sport loving women are real too!

When I wrote I am Superman, I asked DC Comics if we could use “the American way” again. They happily let me. We’re all on the same team. Go see the movie. Believe in kindness. We need some good in the world right now — and delivers it. .
