canadianfear.com wants to help publically archive the history of the haunted attraction industry in one place so long time contributors can reminisce and future generations can learn and enjoy. WE NEED YOUR HELP! A user on the hauntworld fright forum known as ”Ghost write 13” has VHS tapes and photos of the ORIGINAL TransWorld's Halloween & Attractions Show 1992 - 1995 onward. This media should be digitized for the world to see!

It is my belief due to the information in the posting that this user is the person who gave the first 1995 electric chair from “Dark Museum” back to Distortions Unlimited - Official

If anybody knows a way to contact this user. Please private message this Facebook account. Or email me at [email protected] and you have my word I will do everything in my power to make this media free and available for all to see!

We also secured a Distortions Unlimited Evil Annie (Animatronic Version). One of the hardest DU Animations to find.

In 2001 Lee Joyner, the sculptor of Candyman and many of the other Distortions classics of that era. Was tasked with creating an animatronic version of their “Evil Annie” static prop.

The piece was given many high end features never before seen on distortions products and never seen again. Most notably, a silicone face. Annie has a fiberglass type head shell with a mouth/eyes function. As well as a side to side head movement.

I only know of two out there. The first being one that was listed for sale in California circa 2015. The fate of this one is unknown at this time. The second one being mine. My evil Annie was at Dark Hour Haunted House in Plano Texas for many years. Until I discovered a semi viral video of her from a TikTok user who worked at the haunt and managed to track down the location of the video 6 months later. I sent an email to the haunted house who had conveniently just removed her from the attraction. So they kindly sold and shipped her to me.

Unfortunately her Sillicone face no longer existed at this point on. She currently has a latex face that was sculpted by the dark hour staff. I am currently looking into if Distortions still has that specific mold. But financial limitations caused by other projects has slightly delayed this part of the restoration. However one way or another. I will make sure she has a Sillicone face.

I have reasonable suspicion to believe my Annie in particular was used for promotional purposes at IAAPA in 2001 through Morris Costumes. And then lived in their famous Dr Evils Haunted House for some time. This is only speculation at this point and any information I find on this subject will be posted right here to Canadian Fear. Most of my suspicion comes from unique paint matching.

This is one of the most exciting finds of 2023! (Tied with an item with a deal currently in progress) I have big plans for 2024 and lots of surprises I’ve been sitting on for the 2023 season. I look forward to being able to share more!

A very rare Candyman by Distortions Unlimited has been secured for our collection!

Candyman was sculpted by Lee Joyner for Distortions in the year 2000. A full mold static prop made out of hard foam. And even a few casts in truck bed liner material. Due to various suspected reasons. From shipping costs, to mold issues and so much more. It is believed only 80 - 150 of these were originally produced depending on who you ask. And it is unknown how many have survived to the present day.

In 2013, Candyman was re-sculpted, dressed in real fabric clothing and was featured on “Making Monsters”. But the original is still favoured today by many and is quite hard to come across. It is truly an honour to add him to the family where he will be displayed and taken care of far into the future!

Candyman is safe with a friend in New Jersey and will soon be shipped out to Canada to his forever home!

And this is just a small glimpse into the collection of rare vintage Halloween items being preserved and collected behind the scenes! Stay tuned for more.
