Critique Theatre Company proudly presents a staged reading of Medea, If Only conceived by Spencer Lawton, directed by Emma Glose. This new edition of Euripides’ ultimate revenge tragedy has been created as a companion to Lawton’s Masters’ research in the WashU Performing Arts Department into adaptation theory as applied to 21st century Medea stories. Inspired by numerous adaptations and mythology, this play follows the betrayed Medea as she seeks revenge on her husband and his new family who have wronged her. And her anger threatens to burn anything or anyone in her way.
Medea, If Only premieres at the Greenfinch Theatre and Dive (2525 S Jefferson Ave 63104) from 12/5-12/7 at 8 pm. Tickets are $10.
