Renovation Begins
BB’s Jazz Blues & Soups on Track to Top the St. Louis Music Scene
St. Louis, MO — [Wednesday, September 9, 2026] — First, we want to thank everyone for the incredible outpouring of love, interest, and support since we announced that BB’s Jazz, Blues & Soups is coming back. It means the world to us that this historic St. Louis landmark holds such a special place in so many hearts.
Life has a way of adding some unexpected twists and turns and a few extra miles to any path that's worthwhile and the path to a reborn BB’s Jazz Blues & Soups has been no different. It has taken some time to get everything finalized but we have crested that hill and can now see our destination. We are thrilled to announce that the final documents have been signed and renovation work has begun.
We are pouring our energy into making BB’s better than ever. We are investing nearly $300,000 into vital infrastructure improvements – including a new HVAC system, a new roof, and a fully rebuilt, reimagined kitchen. These upgrades may happen behind the scenes, but they are critical for your comfort.
Rest assured, BB’s will not lose its charm. For those who have asked about the iconic artwork that once graced our walls, we are happy to share that we are carefully cleaning, curating, and restoring much of it to public view.
In the coming weeks, we will share regular progress updates leading up to our grand opening. Stay tuned for previews of our specialty drink menu, our upgraded Southern and soul food menu, details on our special Sunday Gospel Brunch, and upcoming musical lineups.
