Those black streaks on your roof aren't just dirt...
They're actually a type of algae called Gloeocapsa Magma.
Over time, this algae spreads across your shingles, creating those dark streaks you see on so many roofs around St. Louis. Besides making your roof look older than it really is, it can hold moisture against the shingles and contribute to premature wear.
The good news? In most cases, you don't need a new roof.
In this video, I explain how we safely remove black streaks using our soft washing process. Unlike high-pressure washing, soft washing uses specialized cleaning solutions and low pressure to eliminate the algae without damaging your shingles.
If you've ever wondered what those black streaks are or if your roof can be cleaned instead of replaced, this video is worth a watch.
If you have any questions about roof cleaning, leave them in the comments. I'm always happy to help.
