🎭 In case you missed it…
Ed compared Rev. Chasuble to Billy Graham because of his genuinely good-hearted nature ⛪🌸

From the very beginning, Ed approached Chasuble with warmth, kindness, and sincerity and it made the whole world of Earnest feel a little softer.

Who do you think had the biggest heart in the show? 💭

🎭 In case you missed it…
Molly described Jack as having “Prince Charming’s nerdness,” and honestly… it made perfect sense the more rehearsals went on 👑📚

Under all the stress, schemes, and social panic, Molly brought out a version of Jack that felt deeply sincere, slightly awkward, and impossible not to root for.

Did Jack feel more like a romantic lead… or a complete disaster by the end? 👀

It’s closed! 💐💖🎟️🍿
And it sure is hard to let it go.
The Importance of Being Earnest has been a room full of laughter, sharp wit, and people showing up for each other onstage and off in delightful play in our scrappy space.

What started as an idea only became something real because of the people who said yes to it.

To our cast: thank you for building these characters with so much care, play, and precision. You made this world feel alive.

To our team: the late nights, the problem-solving, the “we’ll figure it out”, and you did. Every single time.

To our community: thank you for sitting with us, laughing with us, and choosing to be here. This only works because you came to support Pay-what-you-wish theatre, some of what you've experienced for the first time. We hope this open and accessible access to theatre is something you'll share with your friends and family who love the arts, and remind them that local theatre IS quality theatre!

We built this with what we had.
And you met us there.
That means everything.

Isobel is Cecily Cardew.💐
But before costumes, before final dress, before opening night—there’s a first impression.

This video layers Isobel’s earliest thoughts on Cecily from our first rehearsal over the work that followed… rehearsals, discoveries, choices, everything that built the character you’ll see onstage. Take a peek!

This is one of our favorite parts of the process—watching something small, and a bunch of ideas in a room grow into something real. We love getting to watch our creatives and tech bring a vision to life over time.

That’s what this process is all about.

And honestly?
This is what local theatre is.
Professional artists, right here in St. Louis, doing the work, building something from the ground up, and creating something worth sharing.
