The Snug Theatre opened in July 2013 to overwhelming support in the local community. This professional 98-seat venue is housed in a quaint storefront across from the St. Clair River in downtown Marine City, MI. Riverbank Theatre was our response to sold out Snug productions and the realization that the Snug was, well, too snug for large musicals. Opening in December 2014, the gorgeous “bank buildi

ng” was restored to much of its original 1920s grandeur (even the vaults are intact) with main floor, mezzanine and box seating for 180 patrons. In 2016, we introduced the Riverbank Youth Theatre, a 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to bring family-friendly arts and education to the community. Look for information on Youth Theatre Camps and Workshops throughout the season. And now, in 2023, we opened the largest venue yet, The Boardwalk Theatre, in downtown St. Boasting 350 seats and robust tech and lighting systems, the Boardwalk is a gorgeous addition to the theater group, now known as Thumbcoast Theaters.

You may have seen Michael this past year as Bernard in “Boeing Boeing” at The Riverbank Theatre, and Rooster Hannigan in “Annie” at The Boardwalk Theatre. Michael is beyond excited to bring such an iconic role to life (and to work with such an incredible cast)!

Meet the talented directors behind Disney’s Dare to Dream, Jr.—our next Academy Production coming this fall!

If you have a kiddo in 1st–12th grade who loves to sing, act, dance, create, or simply wants to try something new, this is their chance to jump in and be part of the magic. 💫

🎶 Meet Vocal Director Beth DeBoyer
With 25 years of experience teaching vocal music and beginning band, Beth brings an incredible passion for helping young performers find their voices. Her students have performed everywhere from the Grand Ole Opry to Carnegie Hall, and her credits include W***y Wonka Kids, Annie Jr., Cinderella: A Modern Make-Over and more.

🎭 Meet Director Vickie Schmitt
With a Master’s in Educational Theatre and more than 20 years as a teaching artist with TADA Youth Theatre in New York City, Vickie has directed, choreographed and taught young performers across the country. Her directing credits include Annie, Little Shop of Horrors, Guys and Dolls, High School Musical, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and more.

Together, Beth and Vickie are ready to create something fun, memorable and full of magic with our young performers. 🌟
