Anyways now that I had some time here are the two paintings I did this Xmas for commission in JPEG format. I am so proud of the fact that it only took 2.5 months to do these two 8" x 10" paintings. With working full time and maintaining my relationship I just have to try and fit art in as much as I can. Oil painting takes forever! I worked very hard on these. There is so much that goes into it. I am really happy with how these two turned out and honestly so excited to keep doing oil paintings.
I also love that there are differences between these two pieces. Art isn't math and you shouldn't get the same answer every time. That would be so boring and predictable.

People keep saying its amazing I made these two paintings look so alike. My goal when I started was to not care how identicle they were. There are a lot of small differences that make each one unique.

Underpaintings are almost done for this set of commissioned pet portraits. Its exciting to do a painting as almost all my comissions thus far have been graphite drawings. They are not meant to be exactly the same as art isn't math. I'm actually excited to see the variations of difference between the two peices when they are finished. I dont think I've ever done two of the same thing before.

Portrait of Doug and Dottie 11" x 14" Graphite on Bristol Board. This took about 16 hours to complete. I could have easily added another couple hours onto that. I was running out of time, so I couldn't quite be as much of the perfectionist that I am inclined to be. I finished it at 1am. This is what I did on my vacation......lol. Most of the time I was loving that, but there was a 9 hour stint of drawing that got me a little strung out. Each section on it has at least 3 layers of graphite. I used 6 different grades of pencil on it.

A client sent me a picture of a landscape I drew, after he framed it. It makes me happy knowing this piece of art will be something he will cherish on his wall forever.

SOLD 8"x10" pet portrait. Graphite on Bristol Board. This was a commission for co-worker. Its actually a birthday gift for her friend. I really enjoyed the composition. Having the dog and cat cuddled together creates a nice feeling.

SOLD 5" x 7" graphite on Bristol Board. The dog's name is Fizzgig and the woman is the clients daughter.
