Happy Mugshot Monday ☕️

I got some sweet mugs and bowls back from a firing as well as some cute ornaments that I’m pretty stoked about ✨

I’ll be doing a flash sale of some of those cuties as well as some other odds and ends I’ve been puttering with on my story soon. Then I’ll be updating my online store, so keep an eye out for that 😉

It has been almost a year since I posted on here. In that time I’ve gotten married to an absolute dreamboat of a man, moved a kiln across a mountain, changed my studio location, had some health issues for a few months, and settled into a new routine of my life in Spruce Pine. However, that routine did not include time in the studio.

I was burnt out. And it is something that I feel isn’t talked about amongst artists. You always have to be creating, applying, selling, marketing; from the minute you graduate. Even if you’re uninspired or unmotivated. Because that’s what you signed up for when you decided to be an artist.

And I did. And I came up with excuses as to why I wasn’t in the studio. But it was because I was burnt out. Both mentally and physically as I dealt with some medical issues. I needed to take some time and space away from my studio practice to re-evaluate what I was doing.

All of this to say that I am finally back in the studio and I am EXCITED to be there; making again. Which is a big deal to me. And I just wanted to share that with you people on the internet ☺️

Hopefully I’ll be posting more than once a year now, and will have some goodies for sale before the holidays ♥️ if you’ve made it this far; thank you. Please bear with me as I get back into this.

Back in June I bought a house in Spruce Pine with the help of my incredible family!! And since then I’ve been working on setting up my own personal studio in it! While doing this I’ve also been working three jobs and trying to enjoy a little of the summer ☀️

Yesterday was the first time I threw on my wheel in my own studio and it was such an amazing feeling. I’m so excited to get back into the studio and into a making cycle ✨

Happy tumbler Tuesday ✨

Smoothing and cleaning up the wrinkles and folds is one of my favorite parts of making these pieces 🤤

I’ve noticed that lately the work I’m making is focused around plants 🌱 I’m ready for spring and summer for sure.
