Tonight, April 27, come up to Hayden to see Rosewood with special guest Jason Bailey at Sugar Creek Supper Club. Don't let the name fool you. Sugar Creek is an unpretentious private music venue on a farm, just down the road from The Pumpkin Patch. (Most every child in St. Clair County has been there at least once, so I know you've heard of the Pumpkin Patch!) They have filled the void for live music since Local Color Cafe has gone the way of the Dodo Bird. We girls open every show, just like before, with Rosewood coming on around 7:30. The drive is much shorter than you think. We can get there in 45 minutes from Springville, going through Oneonta on 231, then 160 at Cleveland. It's a straight shot from there, just look for the big Pumpkin Patch sign at the intersection of 160 & CO Rd 45. Take Co Rd 45 for 1.8 miles and you'll see the Sugar Creek banner on your left. Turn onto the (unpaved) driveway in to the farm, and there you are! Plenty of parking. Mac and Pat will have the kitchen open for early supper, 5:45 to 6:45....this week is Chicken Salad Croissant w/chips and drink for only $7.00, or the Gourmet Hot Dog bar/chips/drink for only $5.00. Also killer desserts for only $2.00 each. Soft drinks, tea, coffee and bottle water for sale, too. We love for you to make a reservation before you come, but tonight the crowd is really small, so JUST GRAB SOME FRIENDS AND COME ON UP!! Local Color Cafe may have passed in to the annals of History, but the music is alive and kicking! We are lending our support and expertise to the new Sugar Creek Supper Club located in Hayden. This is a private venture which invites people who really love to listen to good music to come out to the farm once or twice a month. Check in to their Face Book page or go to www.sugarcreeksupperclub.com to get reservation info and more about this eclectic new spot. The Something Else Trio are opening the shows, just like before at Local Color. Most of your favorite groups will be playing there in the coming months, including Three on a String, Rosewood, Jil Chambless & Scooter Muse, Rose Colored Glasses, and The Red Coats (early Beatles). What to do it this dead time between Christmas and New Years? Why, drive up to Hayden tonight for the kick off of the new spot to play, Sugar Creek Supper Club! We are helping to get things off the ground with a performance by our favorite guys, Three on a String, and us girls from the Something Else Trio! Don't let the name fool you. this place is more a country cousin of Local Color.....laid back, not at all fussy and a great place to kick back to listen to wonderful music in a quiet atmosphere. You know how we all love to be able to hear the music!! The address is 344 Camp Rd, Hayden, AL. Right past the iconic Pumpkin Patch which is right off of 160. Come by way of Oneonta, or up I-65.
