A customer just said to me “ your parents own this place right?” And I replied happily “yes!”

He said “ i could tell because you look just like your mom”❤️

Hell of a compliment and I’ll take it 💕. I hope I act like her too.

And the best part of the whole interaction was that he was talking about how my parents and this store have been so welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community since the beginning. THAT is a legacy worth striving for.

IT’S OUR BIRTHDAY!!!

54 years ago, in 1972, these 2 amazing people had a dream to open a little record store and work for themselves. The gamble paid off though it was a rocky first few years. But they stayed true to their vision and it shows all these years later ❤️

Part of being open this long means that they are getting older ( early 80s and mid 70s respectively) so we see them less and less. But Ben, myself, Kim and the rest of our wonderful staff try every day to carry on what is now LEGEND 😂. We want you to have fun! We want a beautiful building ! We want a great variety of things that are hard to find!

In many ways we’ve changed SO much but in the ways that matter most , it’s still 1972 in here 💕💕

Drop us a happy birthday wish , Tom and Pam will really appreciate it!
