Community Philanthropy:
Meet Kirsten, a senior at Springfield High who took matters into her own hands after two peers took their lives as a result of bullying. This year, Kirsten started the Springfield High Anti-Bullying club to help stop bullying. Their motto: Stop Report Defend.
Last week Kirsten got word that a national anti-bullying speaker would be close to Springfield. She got in contact with their team and Marc Mero agreed to come speak at the High School. The problem? She had less than 7 days to raise $2,500.
Rather than throw in the towel, Kirsten asked for permission to leave school last Friday and go into the community to ask for support. 5 days later and $2,500 raised, Marc Mero will be coming to Springfield High on January 30th to speak about su***de prevention, substance abuse and anti-bullying. Why? Because Kirsten made it happen.
āI truly believe that Marc will not only open the eyes of the student body, but also save lives.ā
We are proud to have students like Kirsten in our community!
