We need your help! 🫵

This week, we received a phone call from a woman named Rosemary who told us she would like to donate 8 paintings to our campaign.

Rosemary and her husband, Vince, told us of the paintings’ travels across Springfield: they started at the Historic Fox Theatre, were then moved to the Gillioz Theatre, and later to the Century 21 Theatre. When all three theatres eventually closed, the couple decided to preserve the paintings. Over the years, they had forgotten about their existence until stumbling across all 8 paintings while cleaning out their attic.

Now, we want to help uncover their story. Do you recognize these paintings or know where they may have been displayed?

The Gillioz is saddened to report the passing of Tim Curry.

Tim Curry was an incredible talent: an actor, singer, and voice artist who brought so many unforgettable characters to life. From Clue to Annie, Spamalot, and Muppet Treasure Island, his work left an undeniable mark in the arts.

And, of course, for so many of us, he will forever be Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

Tim was a trailblazer for the unique, the different, and the dreamers. His legendary performance in The Rocky Horror Picture Show has become a beloved tradition at the Gillioz, where his presence has graced our screen year after year. This year, we’ll honor Tim the best way we know how: by gathering together to watch Rocky Horror this October 23.

The cult classic he starred in means so much to so many, and we share the pain of the loss. Whether you’re a longtime fan, watching it at home, or celebrating somewhere else, we hope you’ll honor Tim Curry in your own way.

And just know: dreamers will always have a safe space at the Gillioz. ❤️

The Gillioz is saddened to report the loss of Dolly Parton.

Dolly was not only a musical inspiration, but a role model to us all. As an office home to 10 women, Dolly has been a great influence on our team and an inspiration for female empowerment. We have always admired her refusal to conform to industry standards and her ability to lead with strength and kindness. She showed us that you can succeed without ever losing your voice, your roots, or yourself.

She used her voice to advocate for women long before it was fashionable to do so. Her starring role in 9 to 5 brought issues like workplace harassment and the gender pay gap into the conversation, all while giving us one of the most iconic songs in history.

In 2024, we were lucky enough to welcome Dolly to our screen at the Gillioz through our showing of Steel Magnolias.

Dolly was one of the most honored female country performers of all time. She was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, earned 11 Grammy Awards, including the 2011 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and received countless other honors throughout her career. She sold more than 100 million records worldwide and had 25 No. 1 singles on the Billboard country charts. In 2025, she received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic work.

But beyond the awards, records, and accolades, Dolly taught us all to be exactly who we are.

Live music truly has a way of bringing us all together. 💛

🎶 Why Live Music Matters More Than Ever

In a world that seems filled with more chaos, division, and uncertainty than ever before, we believe the communal experience of live music has never been more important.

For 90 minutes, you can walk into a concert surrounded by people you may have absolutely nothing else in common with—and somehow, it doesn’t matter.

You’re all there for the same reason.

You sing the same songs.
You feel the same emotions.
You laugh together.
You remember together.
And for those 90 minutes, you become one with the music and with the artist standing on that stage.

There is something incredibly powerful about that shared experience. No screen can truly replace it. No recording can duplicate the feeling of thousands of people singing a song together.

That’s one of the reasons The Ozark Mountain Daredevils have survived 54 years.

We believe in the power of music.
We believe in the power of our songs.
And most of all, we believe in the power of people coming together.

So keep gathering. Keep singing. Keep dancing. Keep showing up for live music not just for our band but for all those artists and venues who need your support.

Because sometimes, for 90 minutes, a song can remind us that we have far more in common than we think.
