✨Teacher Feature: Miss Kaitlyn✨
Owner, Founder & Dance, Acro, and Aerial Arts Teacher
Miss Kaitlyn founded Uplift with a clear vision: to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive studio where every student feels seen, celebrated, and encouraged to be their authentic self. She is deeply passionate about nurturing the whole child, not only helping students develop their skills, but also building the confidence, courage, creativity, and resilience they will carry far beyond the studio.
Kaitlyn has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance Management and Instruction and holds advanced certification through Acrobatic Arts, a worldwide leader in AcroDance education. With 20 years of teaching experience, her favorite part of the job remains the meaningful relationships she builds with her students and their families. Few things bring her more joy than watching a student grow stronger, believe in themselves, and light up with pride after accomplishing something they once thought was impossible.
As Uplift’s owner and artistic director, Kaitlyn can usually be found teaching classes, mentoring her team, dreaming up new programs, building community partnerships, or finding new ways to make Uplift an even more welcoming and inspiring place for young people.
At the heart of Kaitlyn’s work is a desire to help students discover the joy and power of movement. Through dance, acrobatics and the aerial arts, students learn to understand and trust their bodies, express themselves creatively, take brave new risks, and recognize just how capable they truly are. Her hope is that every student leaves the studio feeling stronger, more confident, and more connected to themselves.
Outside the studio, Kaitlyn loves spending time with her husband, Tim, and their son, Caleb, along with their chocolate Labradoodle, Bella, and cats, Ava and Max. She also enjoys kayaking, hiking, snowboarding, spending time with friends, and foraging for wild seasonal foods!
