Resident Artist Ensemble

Resident Artist Ensemble Dedicated to creating artist-led, ensemble-driven theatre; and providing an artistic home for local, long-term, professional collaboration.

Our Story

We are the Resident Artist Ensemble. We have chosen to make Springfield, Missouri our home. Located in the Ozark region of southwest Missouri, Springfield is experiencing exponential growth, accompanied by the ongoing emergence of a culturally rich, artistic community. In relation, we have discovered a need in the region for additional professional, AEA* sponsored, theatre. It is the R

esident Artist Ensemble’s philosophy that the arts are a vital ingredient in the development of a vibrant, fiscally sound, community-centered city. In response, we are laying the foundation for a permanent, resident artist ensemble, notably as a means to provide a long-term collaboration of regional professional theatre artists. It is our aim to forge the development of the Resident Artist Ensemble as a long-term fixture in the southwest Missouri region.

*Actors' Equity Association ("AEA" or "Equity"), founded in 1913, is the labor union that represents more than 48,000 Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. Equity seeks to advance, promote and foster the art of live theatre as an essential component of our society.

Juliana Smithton is a successful neurologist whose life seems to be coming unhinged. Her husband has filed for divorce, her daughter has eloped with a much older man and her own health is in jeopardy. But in this brilliantly crafted work, nothing is as it seems. Piece by piece, a mystery unfolds as fact blurs with fiction, past collides with present and the elusive truth about Juliana boils to the surface.
