We at the Joplin & Springfield Railway are sad to announce the passing of our founder, Dave Holberg, on April 26, 2026.
Dave was a generous person who thought big. He loved trains from an early age, and in the 1990s, he and his wife, Virgie, turned that enthusiasm into our grand railway adventure.
For more than twenty years, the Joplin & Springfield Railway hosted the public for free train rides at the Fourth of July and Halloween. While we mourn our loss, we are deeply grateful for all the fun and great memories we shared with Dave.
