Inspire the Next Generation of Theatre Leaders
Springfield Theatre Centre is seeking a passionate ACTT Mentor to support our Active & Creative Teen Theatre (ACTT) program—a premier, youth-led theatre initiative for ages 12–19.
This role is ideal for someone who loves theatre, enjoys working with teens, and wants to guide without leading, empowering students to take ownership of their creative work.
What You’ll Do
🌟 Mentor & Support Teens
* Serve as a positive role model for youth ages 12–19
* Encourage leadership, teamwork, and creativity
* Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment
🎬 Guide Student-Led Programming
* Support productions, events, and fundraisers
* Attend ACTT meetings and rehearsals
* Assist with organization, planning, and problem-solving
🎭 Provide Theatre Guidance
* Mentor in acting, directing, tech, and stage management
* Help students navigate productions from auditions to performance
💼 Assist with Operations
* Support concessions inventory management
* Help oversee ACTT financial processes, including:
* Tracking funds and deposits
* Monitoring purchasing using a debit card
* Ensuring alignment with STC guidelines
🤝 Collaborate & Communicate
* Liaison between ACTT and STC leadership
* Assist with parent communication when needed
✅ Ensure Safety & Accountability
* Follow STC youth safety policies
* Provide appropriate supervision
* Encourage responsible decision-making
Who You Are
✔ Passionate about theatre and youth development�✔ Strong communicator and mentor�✔ Organized, dependable, and adaptable�✔ Experience with theatre or teens preferred
Bonus if you have:
* Directing, stage management, or arts education experience
* Experience with youth-led programs
Time Commitment
* Monthly ACTT meetings (Hoogland Social Room)
* Additional time during production seasons (spring & summer)
* Occasional performances and events
