Missouri State University Music Department faculty members Dr. Emlyn Johnson and Dr. Daniel Ketter recently played some Missouri-themed duets presented before this morning's Virtual 2020 State of the State address, organized by Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. We are particularly happy to be sharing some fun Joplin arrangements, that sound great with the flute and cello:

J. S. Bach - Two-Part Invention in C major, BWV 772
Traditional - "Across the Wide Missouri" or "Shenandoah"
Scott Joplin (arr. Daniel Kelley) - Pine Apple Rag
Scott Joplin (arr. Daniel Kelley) - Maple Leaf Rag

Thanks to Peyton Andrews from Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce for including local Ozark musicians in the program.

Wondering what to do while social distancing? If you are >6 feet apart, read some chamber music with friends! In this video, Missouri State University Music Department faculty Jung Choi, Emlyn Johnson, and Daniel Ketter read through a few movements of a trio sonata by Handel. Take a second to listen and enjoy some chamber music from the Ozarks!

We couldn't host Opus 76 String Quartet this evening, but you should definitely listen to this excellent Online Recital of Three Beethoven Quartets! Looking forward to having them come to Springfield in the fall.

We look forward to having the Quartet visit Springfield for a concert for the future! Thanks for understanding.
