I'll be at two markets this weekend, the Backyard Market in Black Forest on Saturday and the Colorado Springs Sunday Market in Acacia Park in downtown CoS. I'll have some new photos, including the two attached: the first Star Trails over Dream Lake at Rocky Mountain National Park, and a string-of-pearls image of March's lunar eclipse taken from the Crags. Another image from our trip to Crested Butte this fall. When we drove by this view of the sun hitting the golden aspen just before sliding behind the mountain, I knew I had to photograph it! Unfortunately, this view is from a narrow dirt road with no convenient parking. Happily my wife was gracious enough to drop me off a couple of days later, where I perched on the side of the road, leaning against a tree to keep from falling down the mountain side.

Images from Ohio Pass, Colorado, often feature mountains clad in yellow and orange aspen. While I certainly saw some landscapes like that, this peaceful image spoke to me about nature remembering: basking in those warm, peaceful days of summer while blissfully ignoring the threat of winter.

Late Fall. While lacking the vibrant yellows and oranges during the peak of color, I was struck by the white and black aspen trunks amid the orange ground cover, while a few late aspens show through the branches. A somber image of nature settling in for it's long winter's sleep.

A couple of weeks ago I was able to get out and image comet Tsuchinshan-Altas. I was fighting weather, wildfire smoke, and moonlight the whole week, but did manage to get this image. I think it turned out pretty good, all considering!
