NEVER LET ME DOWN is a New Wave jukebox musical set in the Midwest during the 1980s, and follows the spiritual journey of a young man (Jamie) who goes from being a ridiculed high school student to a high-profile New York City deejay. Narrated by his quirky, but loveable Grammy, along with God (her constant companion) we trace our hero's story from high school to radio school to the big time! After
hitting his stride as a morning show co-host, he forgoes his relationship with God and turns to the lure of success and illicit relationships. In losing his moral fiber, he becomes cruel and uncaring toward his friends and family. The climax comes when he makes a fatal mistake on-air and loses his career and credibility. With nothing left, he humbly turns back to God and learns to listen for inspiration and guidance and as his faith is tested, finally receives the courage to take responsibility for his actions. The result is a new opportunity to continue his career, be involved with the love of his life, and have a new- found relationship with God. The story speaks of what true success is when you let God steer your life, a history of radio throughout the 1980s, and moves to the beat of the 1980s New Wave revolution.
