How much time does it really take to create a cyanotype?

In this clip, we’re checking on several cyanotypes as they expose in the sun. Exposure time is one of the many variables that can influence your final results, and learning how to work with those variables is part of what makes the process so fascinating.

If you’ve been curious about cyanotypes but aren’t sure where to start, this workshop is designed to give you the confidence to jump in and begin experimenting. You’ll learn the process step by step, while also discovering how small changes can lead to dramatically different outcomes.

Enrollment is open now, but it won’t be open much longer. If you’ve been thinking about joining us, don’t wait until the last minute. I’d love to help you discover just how creative, versatile, and rewarding this process can be.

Sometimes the best answer is, “Because I could.” 😄

In this clip, I’m sharing one of my favorite parts of the creative process—experimenting without needing permission. Mixing techniques, trying unexpected combinations, and seeing what happens is often where the magic lives.

As artists, we’re allowed to explore. We’re allowed to be curious. We’re allowed to change our minds, follow a hunch, and create in ways that make absolutely no sense to anyone else.

Some of my favorite pieces have come from simply asking, “What if…?”

That’s exactly the spirit I’ll be encouraging inside Cyanotype 101. Open enrollment is happening now, and we’ll be getting started soon. If you’ve been curious about cyanotypes and want a supportive place to learn, experiment, and play, I’d love to have you join us.

What creative “rule” have you broken lately?

06/10/2026

Today I’m feeling incredibly grateful.

When I launched Cyanotype 101, I had no idea where this journey would lead. Thanks to your likes, comments, shares, encouragement, and support, we’ve now reached 50 enrollments.

The audio in this reel talks about something I believe deeply: supporting one another costs us very little, but it can mean everything to the person on the receiving end. Every time you engage with an artist’s work, share a post, leave a kind comment, or tell a friend about a workshop, you’re helping make creative dreams possible.

So thank you. 🤗

Thank you for following along, for cheering me on, for sharing my work, and for trusting me to guide you through the beautiful process of cyanotype.

And if you’ve been curious about cyanotype but haven’t taken the leap yet, I’ve finally updated my website so you can learn more about the workshop and register directly from the workshop page.

Remember: you don’t have to get it right—you just have to begin.
