Join Queen City Chorale for We Remember Them, featuring Eric Whitacre’s The Sacred Veil, a moving work exploring love, illness, and loss. The concert is presented in partnership with GYN Cancers Alliance (GYNCA), in honor of National Gynecologic Cancers Awareness Month.

Last month, Queen City Chorale had the opportunity to perform at The Creamery Arts Center as part of First Friday Art Walk! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and stayed a while to listen to our singers, and to SGF Regional Arts Council for having us.💜 We love any chance we get to be out in the community!

Presented in partnership with GYN Cancers Alliance (GYNCA) during Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month, this concert acknowledges grief as a natural part of life while offering music as a vehicle for healing, remembrance, and connection. Our fifth season opens with "The Sacred Veil" by Eric Whitacre, a poignant work tracing love, illness, and loss. Written after lyricist Charles Anthony Silvestri lost his wife to ovarian cancer, the piece reflects a reality that has touched nearly every family.

We close with “We Remember Them” by Susan LaBarr, a moving work by the Springfield-based composer that reminds us remembrance carries love forward long after loss.

In addition to ticket sales, guests will be invited to make a freewill offering benefiting GYNCA and its mission to support individuals and families impacted by gynecologic cancers in the Ozarks. This program invites our community into a shared reflection that is honest, tender, compassionate, and ultimately hopeful.

Organizations are built by people who quietly give their time, creativity, and care without expecting recognition. Today, we want to recognize two of those people.

Thank you, Michaela Lovig and Alayna Dick, for helping build Queen City Chorale into what it is today. Your leadership, encouragement, and friendship have made a lasting difference, and we're so grateful for all you've shared with our singers and our community.

Though your time on the board has come to a close, you'll always be part of the QCC family.

Featuring Eric Whitacre's The Sacred Veil alongside music by J.S. Bach and Susan LaBarr, this program acknowledges grief as a natural part of life while offering music as a vehicle for healing, remembrance, and connection.

Presented in partnership with GYN Cancers Alliance (GYNCA) during National Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month, this concert also supports GYNCA's mission to serve individuals and families impacted by gynecologic cancers throughout the Ozarks. One more way we’re investing back into our community.

Queen City Chorale has officially adopted a street in Springfield! While we’re known for making great music together, we also want to create opportunities to serve together. 🌱
