It was a fabulous run, and we tried as hard as we could, but we don’t have a penny left to give. All we have left is gratitude for the time that we had.
Thank you to all the bands, artists, staff, DJs, dancers, gamers, goths, nerds, g**s, poets, punks, and creators that were there for some of the most memorable, enriching, and human events.
Don’t get the bday card from Target. Go to Hey!, Kaleidoscope, or the Library Vintage. Don’t pregame in your car before a show. Buy the cheapest drink on the venue’s menu if that’s all you can afford. Don’t pick the big-chain drive-thru. Take the extra 5 mins to support Handshake, Zelli, or a local food truck. Let’s support the spaces that are left still carrying the torch, so all that’s left isn’t just big box stores, law firms, and sterile corporate funded restaurants.
For those that said Backroom was the only thing keeping them in NWA, or for those that wanted to do future events in our space, we are sorry. We truly wish that rent was more affordable.
For everyone who supported us old and new, you are the reason we stayed afloat for this long.
To whoever opens the next weird brave and daring DIY space that makes NWA a little more interesting, we’ll be there to support!
