Today marks officially one year of full time self-employed artistry 🥹🖤💕✨ it’s not my first rodeo with working for myself, but I can safely say I’m happier and more successful in my career than ever. And that means a LOT.
Real talk: I made this leap last year right after my Dad died. He was my bedrock, my structure, my forever business coach who always helped me make smart decisions. With him gone I broke completely, after a long time of overworking myself plus the stress of watching his decline just finally snapped me in half. Suddenly nothing felt important anymore except finding happiness for myself again.
Thankfully I have an incredible husband who vehemently supported me in leaving my day job — and an incredible events network here in Houston that picked me up immediately and got my name out in every room they could. I’ve had some slow months but for the most part I’ve stayed very busy since jump, and I could not be more grateful. 💕
I love making art. So much. It’s been my one consistent joy since I could hold a pencil, and I still can’t believe sometimes that I get to do such a wide and fun variety of it and carve out my weird girl career in this world in a way that’s entirely my own.
So THANK YOU, all of you, so very much for being here and sharing and recommending me. It means more than I can express, and I’ll keep going as long as I can.

In today’s episode of Things You Might Not Know I Can Do, I was going through my workshop photos and decided to make some lil collage graphics of some of my most recent! 💕 Did you know when I got out of college I got certified as an art teacher? I taught kids at an afterschool art school for a few years, and have taught workshops to all ages sporadically throughout my years in events! These are just a few examples— trying to get into doing them more regularly and can teach just about anything that I can do! Got a workshop idea? I can probably facilitate. 🙌✨ HMU!

Oh, Dolly 🥺💕 What a woman. Growing up I thought it was strange she would say that she was “trashy”, because to me she was a perfect example of a confident, classy, feminine, American goddess. She never hid her body or her beauty but never seemed to wield them for the male gaze, even at her most sultry, in a way that was so composed and self-owned. She was whip smart and kind and cared deeply for animals and children and education and working people and taking care of others, and set such an incredible example of using a platform of fame for good, until her very last. May we all carry some of her light and authenticity into our futures. We love you, our Queen. Thank you for everything 🩷✨

Love when a biz card restock becomes a serotonin package day!! 🖤💕✨ After being shocked by my previously preferred printing company of 10+ years posting that “one of the best ways to save money is to not hire a graphic designer” 🙃 (essentially encouraging AI use and belittling the importance of creatives’ knowledge and skillsets!!) I was looking for a new printer — happy to report I not only got 50 free stickers with my biz card order (!) but also the delight of this adorable packaging that I will absolutely reuse from Jukebox 💕 this isn’t an ad, just wanted to shout them out. In a world where creative professionals are constantly fighting for adequate pay and respect, use your dollars to support companies who lift up artists!!
If you didn’t know, I design all my materials and worked as a contract and freelance graphic designer for most of my adult life. There is so much art, psychology, and even science that goes into design - it’s so much more than slapping text over a stock graphic or picking a cool font. Hiring a designer to create for you or your brand shows that you value your product or business, and can be a defining advantage in the way you are seen! Please “gentle parent” your friends and peers on why all this DIY AI garbage is a waste of time and resources when you see them use generative AI to create graphics or ads. I promise there are designers out there who are happy to help folks at any budget level. 💕
