Noah Becker’s Whitehot Magazine of Contemporary Art LLC just wrote about SPLIT LEVEL, and we’re happy to be included! The fair is back for its second edition, October 1-3 at Rimadesio, and it’s a different kind of fair. Instead of standard booths, each exhibitor makes its own presentation inside the showroom.

The lead image in the article is a Paper Houses sculpture by Paul Leibow. We’re showing five pieces from the series, along with work by Jenny Day. Opening night is Thursday, October 1, 6-8 PM. Come say hi!

There are also talks, tours, and a performance and video program throughout the weekend.

Tickets and the full article are linked in our bio.

Painted patterns meet sculpted structures in I Love Your Work, a two-person show pairing Rob Ventura’s paintings with Loren Eiferman’s sculptures.

Ventura starts with flowers, insects, cells, the markings on animals and layers them into compositions with a real rhythm to them, where the botanical forms sit somewhere between something observed and something invented.

Eiferman works with tree limbs she forages herself, cutting and joining dozens of small pieces of wood into open, curving forms that look less built than grown.

Side by side, the two bodies of work start talking to each other. A branch picks up where a painted line leaves off. Flowers open and come apart. The geometry hiding inside natural things moves back and forth between two dimensions and three.
