RTSC is a blossoming organization and in future we hope to add classes for costuming, technical theater, dramaturgy, etc. Rough & Tumble Shakespeare Co. was founded in 2019 by Evan and Maggie Hernandez. Evan Hernandez is an award winning playwright, published author, and a professional actor. He graduated from the University of Evansville with a degree in performance, literature, and creative writing. After acting with a number of local theaters in the Seattle area and touring for a year with Seattle Shakespeare Company, Evan moved to New York City. He has worked for a wide variety of off-Broadway theaters in both creative and technical positions. Technical credits include Traces, Sleep No More, and Hamilton. He has appeared in a number of regional and national commercials. Evan taught theater for both CYT New York City and CYT Nashville, before founding the Rough & Tumble Shakespeare Company in 2019 with his wife, Maggie. Margaret Hernandez is a graduate of The King's College in NYC with a degree in media, culture, and the arts. During her time there she performed in and helped produce a variety of plays, including Hamlet. She was a member and employee of the renowned Young Actors Theatre in Tallahassee, FL. After college, she interned at TADA!, the premier children's theater in New York City and stage managed operas, including Carmen and Werther. Maggie is a cofounder and the managing director of the Rough & Tumble Shakespeare Company.
