I’m sorry that I will not be performing at the Waukegan Pride Festival this afternoon. I injured my back and honestly considered every option, but it’s too painful today. This festival means a lot to me because it was at the “after show” where I first performed as Cherry, with the support of some wonderful friends. The following year I was asked to perform in the Pride show and was crowned Queen of Waukegan Pride”! That was my first crown and was extra special because it was a dear friend who put the crown on my head. So I would never want to let anyone down after you’ve all been so kind to me. I’m hoping to be up and ready for my next show soon. I hope everyone has an awesome time today. There’s a wonderful lineup of very talented performers and I know everyone has worked hard to organize a fabulous show. I’ll miss you.

I’m so excited to be part of this show and to be representing Waukegan Friends in the Pride Parade, where I’ll be wearing my crown for the last time as Queen of Waukegan Pride. It meant the world to be so honored by such a wonderful group of people. All love ❤️

Back in 2019, a New Zealand copywriter named Josh Thompson got called into a redundancy meeting at his ad agency⁠

HR told him he could bring a “support person” along… so naturally, he hired a professional clown for $200.⁠

While his bosses explained he was being let go, the clown sat there making balloon animals, fake sobbing, and reacting like it was the most dramatic thing ever.⁠

At one point, he even mimed crying when Josh got his termination papers.⁠

What should’ve been a brutal meeting turned into one of the funniest firing stories on the internet.⁠

The whole thing blew up online, people loved it, and Josh ended up getting a bunch of attention and new job opportunities out of it.⁠
