Just a little fun history on our Little town on this lovely Friday.

🚤 Spring City was once a canal town!

The Schuylkill Canal helped Spring City grow in the 1800s. The canal arrived in the area around 1824 and brought commerce, workers, stores, mills, and industry to town. Spring City even had a stove foundry and a large paper mill.

Before cars and delivery trucks, the Schuylkill Canal was a major route through our community. Boats, businesses, mills, and workers helped Spring City grow into the town we know today.

Next time you’re walking around town, take a moment to imagine Spring City in the canal era! 🌊. Imagine the bands rolling in on boats and bringing equipment up from the canal.
