I keep waiting for things to settle down before I start sharing again.

And I’m beginning to realize… I think this is settled down. 😂

Seven months ago I started a tiny micro bakery, baking six loaves of sourdough bread at a time from my kitchen. This week I baked 252.

The bakery. The art. The animals. The 47 unfinished projects. The ideas I probably shouldn’t have but will absolutely do anyway.

Somewhere along the way, this little Texas cottage bakery became a life I really love building.

So I’m just going to start showing up here again and let you watch it happen.

Bread Shed Chronicles…is it haunted? If so I believe it would be some very happy ghosts. Very Casper like in personality. How many times have you given up and said you can’t do art? Have you wanted to try again but feel like it’s impossible? I am here for you. YOU are my favorite person. I teach art classes not to create fine artists. I teach art for people to simply enjoy being creative. That’s it. Art does something magical between your brain and hands. Thoughts become tangible. Happy little glimmers in your day. I want to spread more of that joy. So let’s begin! Who’s with me?

Midlife brings a sort of realization of what you don’t want in your life and gives you time to reflect on what you choose to add to it to give you joy. At least that’s what I have done. Has it been the easiest path? No. Is it worth it? 1000%. I hope you follow along on my sourdough journey to see where this goes!

Sheep are my true passion. It’s why I bake. I bake to provide the feed and care I need to for them. If I could make money spinning yarn all day I would! Unfortunately, fiber arts are becoming lost. That is why I want to get back to offering basic knitting and crochet classes. It’s so rewarding to create something you were able to weave together yourself.

This is where it all starts. This is my starter. Never did I EVER think I would make 8000 grams of starter in a day, but here I am. I also made one batch of cookie dough today and the first ingredient was 5 1/2 POUNDS of butter. Ok ok - all you cool pastry chefs out there that do this for a living, this may be what you are used to. But for me. An at home baker. Who started with selling a couple of loaves 4 months ago. This is pretty flipping cool.

Flavor Friday!!! I am so excited to be offering so much tomorrow. It will be my biggest day at the stand YET as far as what I’m making available. Everyone here has been so welcoming and supportive. Today felt a little bit like graduation day.

Not the cap-and-gown kind.
The quiet kind.
The kind where you look around and realize the thing you started “just for fun” has slowly become part of your life’s work.

A hobby turned into late nights.
Then early mornings.
Then sold-out bread days.
Then classes.
Then people showing up again and again.
Then dreams that suddenly needed bigger tools.

This old Hobart feels like more than a mixer.
It feels like proof.

Proof that tiny beginnings count.
Proof that creativity can feed people — literally and figuratively.
Proof that small things grow when you keep showing up for them.

The Little Making Place is becoming something much bigger than I imagined…
and somehow also more me than ever.

Flavor Friday is in full swing regardless of rain! I have Pepperoni Mozzarella bread, cheddar jalapeno, everything bagel, and classic loaves. Cookie today is cookies and cream and they are so big they barely fit in the bag! Chase the blah gray day away with some very yummy bread and cookies baked fresh today!!!

Snickerdoodle is the flavor of the day!!! I made 4 times the batch because I know you all love them! So if you think I must be sold out - I bet not! 😆🤣 I also have mini loaves & full size loaves. Monday is normally my busiest day. Don’t prove wrong - come and see me! Also I am out here making improvements to the bread shed so come and say hi!
