Y’all showed UP and OUT last night! And so many new faces! Shout out to John, Kerry, Nuno & Josh for bringing the 🔥all night!

Josh and I always enjoy hosting these gatherings and this one was no exception. Start to finish it was on point! Music/Vibe/Energy were 🙌🏼

Thanks to everyone who wished me (a few days early) happy birthday and stuck around and danced with me at end to one of my all time favorite tunes ❤️

Our long running funky ass Twitch stream will be returning on Thursday evenings in late September! It's been on hiatus since the winter, but it's time to revive it for the long dark months ahead!
Going to be looking for a guest each week, so if you're a HOUSE dj, the inbox is open for our stream vets - as well as anyone who's never played for us before (RX3 or Vinyl option)

We've been doing events in Cheney for 9 years now.
It'd get dry in the summer, but not like it's been the past few years - and it's definitely getting worse.
After witnessing Washingtons worst fire in its state history tear through the city we all call home, it was time to reevaluate our plan going forward.

The Gray Fire in Medical Lake in 2023 burned down both sides of the property where the Shelter is located. It was a close call and ever since then, a wildfire out there - through our fault or not - has been on our minds. I'll be honest...I dont sleep well the nights leading up to our events there, as the threat of fire and how to safely get people out keeps me awake. It's been stressful for all of us, and a challenge to relax and have a good time with the anxiety and fear of fire. We dont want to be responsible for burning someone's home down. Or worse.
After this past weekend, I think it's driven home how quickly things can turn into a major disaster. It'd just take one spark and it could get real bad real fast...
So we've come to the tough decision to halt all Shelter events.
Forever? Possibly.
Time (and future winter snowfall) will tell. Because without the snow, it's just drying out too fast and not safe anymore.

Its tough to close this chapter of Back2Basics.
We built something unique and special for Spokane. From the first Dome event with just 2 lights, to its "upgraded" pallet dance floor and janky camo net covering, to then retiring the Dome and building the current space during Covid, we've put countless hours of labor, money and hard work into creating our little sanctuary in the woods. But in the interest of not only everyones safety in attendance, but also the safety of the surrounding area - its time to bring it to an end.

Thank you for ALL the great memories on the property over the past 9 years. It's been a long strange trip and Josh and I appreciate each and every one of you for attending all of those amazing nights out there.
We wouldn't trade them for anything.
We hope you and your families are safe

We are postponing tonight’s event for the safety of everyone.
The risk of wildfire is just too great today and it would be irresponsible on our part to try and go on with tonight’s plans.
We said in June that all these events would be dependent on wildfire and smoke issues, and unfortunately here we are 😕

Stay safe out there today.
This is Spokanes first PDS red flag warning since 1991 when Chattaroy burned to the ground in Firestorm…

Update:
We’ve decided we’re going to wait an extra week until the first Shelter event. We’ve still got some work to do at the property and the extended time will help us get the place ready for some nighttime dancing.

Updates:
Now that I’m like 99% unpacked and settled in our new house, I’ve been getting the studio put together, so the Twitch stream will be returning in the fall. Stay tuned for that 📡

If there’s no smoke and/or fires in late July, we’ll be back at Shelter. Id say 7/25 for the kickoff. But again, it’s all going to be dependent on what the wildfire season brings us. Let’s hope it’s not terrible 🤞🏼
We’d be also looking at 8/22 for the second shelter event and 9/18 and 9/19 for the 11 year (!) anniversary weekend.
After that we’ll be back on Sprague for the winter.

With the move, long vacations and just life in general, we’ve decided to take a bit of a breather this summer.
But we’re still here.
Always scheming, planning and kicking around ideas 👀
