My clay studio is nestled along the banks of Peone Creek in the Little Spokane River valley of north Spokane. A professional clay artist for many years (well since “prehistoric” times!), I have thrown opened the studio doors to share my passion for working with clay. The ClayFox Clay School is for people who want to take pottery classes on the potter’s wheel or learn hand building techniques with clay. There are also special classes in sculpture, raku firing, glazing techniques and many more.

Join us for an afternoon of fun! We will be celebrating Mother's Day a little early this year AT PRIEST LAKE, ID. Come on by for wine, light snacks, and a chance to meet our featured artists!
Our feature show "Spring into Lake Time" is a combination show showcasing clay artist Jill Smith, and talented watercolor artist Clint Whitsett.

The ClayFox Clay School is offering another 5 session classe on throwing on the potter's wheel. Class sizes are small (4 -5 people) and these sessions open to adults only. 3 sessions of throwing on the potter's wheel creating bowls, plates and mugs n' vases, then a trimming session and the last session on several different glazing techniques. A new beginner class is starting Thursday nights at 6:00 beginning April 23. The last classes have been muddy fun for all! Cost is $240 for the 5 sessions and includes throwing instruction, clay, glazes and firing. The last classes came away with about 10 to 12 pieces each! It’s winter still and time to get muddy (since there isn’t that much snow to play in)!! Come have some muddy fun and try out the potter’s wheel! I am now booking last of February and March openings for a “Just Try It” one session clay classes. These are adult classes (18 and older). Most “Just Try It” classes are on Saturdays but if you have 4-5 people/family/friends you can schedule a class pretty much any day and time. Just let me know what might work for you and how many wheels to reserve. Classes are $48 each for 2 ½ hours. We have a lot of muddy fun and classes do fill up pretty quick! It is a New Year and time to clean up the studio! Anyone who made bowls over 5 months ago and didn't come back to glaze them / or have them glazed.....well they are now being recycled. If you squawk loud enough and contact me before tomorrow there is a still a chance to retrieve them. If you would like some new bowls.... come on back and we will make some more!

The ClayFox Clay School is ready to rock again! After taking Oct off the Just Try It classes are starting Saturday Nov 8 at 9:00 and most Saturdays at 9:00 after that. A full schedule listing is coming in a day or so. Grab a buddy and come get muddy!
