Apologies for the belated post, but thank you to everyone for joining us for the Spokane Highland Game's 68th year!

We dealt with many trials and hiccups this time round, but we stuck it out and had a great day (sans the fires).

We're so thankful to all of our volunteer members who help organize this event year-round. Many thanks to our vendors for making the trek out to the fairgrounds from all over. And of course, many thanks to our friends who attend the games! None of this could happen without all of your support 🥰

We hope you all enjoyed yourselves, whether it was listening to the pipe and drum, watching the highland dancers or the athletes, or just enjoying a sausage roll 😄

If you have any pictures, please drop them in the comments! Tell us what your favorite thing from our 2026 games was, or give us some notes for improvement!

Slàinte mhath, and see you next year for the 2027 games on August 7th!

See the Caber Toss, Stone Put, Hammer Throw, and more at this year's games!

Caber Toss: The Caber is a tree that has been cut down and trimmed so one end is slightly wider than the other. It can vary length from 16 to 22 feet and between 100 and 180 pounds. The Caber is hoisted by the competitor who balances it vertically holding the smaller end in their hands. Then the competitor runs forward attempting to toss it in such a way that it turns end over end with the upper (larger) end striking the ground first. The smaller end that was originally held by the athlete then hits the ground in the 12 o'clock position measured relative to the direction of the run. If successful, the athlete is said to have turned the caber.
